The Pan flute is one of the instruments that can not be reproduced only by the amount of material sampled. Because this instrument requires different expressiveness and playability depending on the genre, there is no library that can handle all cases. Shrinx has packed the functionality needed as a virtual instrument into the simplest possible interface. With just one library, make the sounds from simulating realistic pan flutes to bottle flute type synth leads.

Flexible Sound Making
A pan flute is a wind instrument, but sustain does not have a big tone change like a brass. However, with regard to the attack, it generates characteristic overtones.
Shrinx divided the samples into two layer in order to simulate this instrumental characteristic. By combining the two layers edge (attack) and sustain, various sounds are created.
Shrinx has 6 combinations and switchable with key switch.
Attack Control
When playing the pan flute on the keyboard, if the attack can be controlled as desired, the expression will be dramatically improved.
Shrinx controls the edge layer with velocity, and adjustable volume and response from the main view on the Kontakt.
When the velocity is below medium, edge layer doesn't sound. And when the velocity is low, sustain sound also becomes slow attack.
With these sound changes due to velocity are made by simulation instead of sample switching, the response will be smooth without feeling the sound switching.
Adjustable Legato Character and Auto Legato
Due to its structure, the pan flute does not have the sound changes by rendition such as legato or portamento.
However, if a player chooses a bottle flute sound as a synth lead, portamento is often used simultaneously.
In addition to polyphonic and monophonic sounds, Shrinx also implements legato feature.
Adjust the legato character with the legato slider and can make the sound from a slight legato to a strong portamento.
Another important factor is the ALC mode. When ALC is on, legato character is automatically optimized for each phrase.
Play with Your Favorite Controller
Although Shrinx has excellent expression only by playing on the keyboard, sometimes it may be required to be more like a wind instrument.
In such a case, let's customize the dynamics. The velocity with the keyboard touch, and the breath with CC#2 is adjustable individually.
You can also play on the keyboard with the breath controller.
In addition, EWI presets customized some sensitivity to improve response and dynamics is included.
